Of Penumbras, Patriotism, and Paradigms : Part 3 – Of Paradigms

(The Conclusion, Part 1 of 2)

In Part 1 of this series, we delved into the nature of judicial tyranny, legislative malfeasance, executive fiat, and bureaucratic overreach. In Part 2, we highlighted a disturbing trend in modern America, where this extensive usurpation of the Constitution is seemingly dismissed or outright defended, albeit halfheartedly. And, mostly, unwittingly.

In these final two installments, we will begin to see that both of these trends are not only following the Progressive Playbook to the letter, but are actually receiving help in advancing this perverse agenda from perhaps the most unlikely of footsoldiers.

I have spent a great deal of time exploring etymology, or the origins of language. The human condition is one that thrives in the presence of clear and concise communication of ideas. Without some form of language, the experiences of prior civilizations and ages (and the wisdom gained by them) would be entirely lost to future generations.

Back in February of this year, I spent a little over two hours on The Sons Of Liberty Show with one of my favorite guests of all time, Dr. John Parnell.

The podcast is available here, for streaming or free mp3 download. I highly recommend it, for anyone who has a couple of hours to spare at least one ear.

Dr. Parnell and I discussed, at great length, etymology, the anatomy of Liberty (one of my favorite analogies), and the deliberate  coarsening and contorting of language, instituted by the earliest Progressive movement agitators, both here in the US and from abroad.

The “uncomfortable fact” (looking at you, and you know who you are) is that this twisting of the language is not coincidental, nor is it merely academic. It circumscribes our very culture, altering the relationship between the individual and their governmental bodies, on various levels.

Worse still, and by design, it places an artificial and profane barrier between citizen and citizen, forever distorting their view of each other, the economy, and society at large.

This method is at the very core of an ideological movement which wraps itself in the language of “progress,” while fanning out the smokescreen in an ever-widening arc, all in a vain attempt to mask the stench and stigma of its true garment: a shroud.

Yes. I said “shroud.”

Make no mistake, the language of the “Progressive” movement is the language of death, decay, and degeneracy. It worships at their altar. Why else would we hear uttered, incessantly, phrases such as “food deserts” or “environmental justice” or “social justice” or “living wage” or “less fortunate” or “middle class”? All of these concepts place an emphasis on the struggle to achieve, as a society, what?

The almost.

Mediocrity. Egalitarianism. Equality for its own sake, at whatever expense necessary, the costs of which are to be paid by a select set of individuals. All of this is antithetical to liberty. And, by extension, antithetical to life itself.

This latter should not be a controversial statement, but an accepted, logical, objective fact. Yet, it’s not. In our modern society, such a declaration is scoffed at, mocked, derided, and deemed pessimistic or even conspiratorial.

I pray to God it were. Any of the above.

But it is, indeed, objective fact. The core of “progressive” ideology is anti-life. The long, dark corridor that is the history of humanity bears this out. Today’s culture, likewise, throws this fact into stark relief, for those bold enough to dare look.

Mass shootings, on school and university campuses, in theaters, and in the streets of our major cities, carried out by individuals steeped in the pervasive secular humanist dogma taught in those schools, viewed in those theaters, and carried forward into reality on those city streets, in the ultimate display of disregard for human life.

A hostage-taker inside the headquarters of the Discovery Channel, leaving behind a manifesto declaring his belief in anthropogenic global warming, the only solution (in his indoctrinated mind) being massive declines in human population.

Protestors in “Occupy” shanty-towns, willfully violating personal property rights, local laws, social norms, and cultural mores with their loitering, littering, and lewd acts, upset at the perceived “injustice” that some individuals in our society have achieved a higher rung on the socio-economic ladder than themselves. And all this despite the fact that this latter group never even bothered to *reach* for those rungs. And, of course, those “evil 1%” must be taken down, violently, if necessary.

These are the overt, the clear-cut, the obvious perversions of our culture wrought by progressivism’s grip on the nation’s educational apparatus.

But there are far more subtle examples, where a keen eye for nuance and a deep understanding of the perverse enemy we face are necessary, in order to spot them and (heaven forbid!) call them out.

The subtleties of Progressivism’s slow creep into the very fabric of our culture will be explored and explained in much greater detail in part 4 of this series.

It is our sincere hope that you will take this series, in total, to heart. And, moreover, put it into practice in your own lives, firmly rejecting political correctness and cultural Marxism, in all their myriad forms, wherever you find them.

The aim of Part 4 is to help you recognize and reject the covert cultural Marxism that has beset our society and, indeed, become ingrained therein, over the past 120 years.

It is no small task to roll back this indoctrination. We fully realize that. But it is a task we must be up to the challenge of undertaking. For all of our sakes.
