Jay Batman AKA Momus1978: “That Entire [Breitbart] Crew Is Going To Get Raked Over The Coals”

Who is Jay Batman AKA @momus1978? We aren’t sure, which is why we dismissed him soon after he contacted The Trenches about @solaar as the swatter and said that he’d swear an affidavit that he had spoken to the swatter. He even went so far as to say Mandy Nagy was verifying everything. I wonder how that “verification” went.

As you can see in these screen shots Jay went from “The Trenches is awesome” to “you’re complicit with hackers”, to finally, “I don’t give a shit what you and your team think”. From the back and forth you can tell I’m playing things close to the vest with this guy and even get “excited” on cue in response to certain things he says.

On July 3, 2012, Jay contacts me out of nowhere and states, “If you have proof Lee is complicit w/NR, print it. If not, hammer those who are.” I “LOL” in response. I’ve never said that, but Jay Batman seems to think I did. Is someone fishing to see if I have information to connect Team Breitbart to Rauhauser? Because now he’s all over Twitter saying that I’ve said that Mandy is connected to Neal Rauhauser. Damn Jay, you went from the allegation about Lee to one about Mandy in pretty short order – about 2 days!

Scripture tells us not to be “tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind” (not even a strandedwind). Case in point.

Another interesting thing in this exchange is that he goes from “I hate Zapem” to “Have her call me”. Why the radical change overnight, Jay?

One of the more bizarre parts of the volley is where he states that he’s researching Team Breitbart and if he finds something on them that he’s going to “rake them over the coals”. That’s where my Bat radar went off for good with this guy. His DMs to me on this topic:

However, my feeling on the Breitbart crew is that they are the Vichy of our side. Collaborators with the enemy… And if and when I find documentation of that, that entire crew is going to get raked over the coals.

Meanwhile, Lee Stranahan has been buddy-buddy with the guy (more awesome “investigative journalism”, Strandedhan, propping up a guy who wants to destroy Breitbart?) doing Blogtalk radio shows with him, three days after he made these statements to me, and is still palling around with him and praising him on Twitter. Standedhan, you’re an embarrassment to your deceased friend. You can’t even intuit his legacy’s existential threats.

Yes, heap tons of praise on the guy who calls "Team Breitbart" our Vichy. Oh, Strandedhan...

Honestly, anyone who’s hell-bent on destroying Andrew Breitbart’s legacy and in so doing hurts his wife and children is persona non grata to all of us at The Trenches.

Here’s the whole dump. See for yourselves. I don’t trust him (not that we ever did, based on information one of our teammates had provided when he first contacted us), but your mileage may vary.

Now he’s got a parody site about us set up and he’s crying all over the internet about how horrible we are. We felt the guy out and this is where it led. Yikes. Farewell, Batman!
