The Reflexive Twitching of the Epileptic Seizure Squad

(Author’s note: We here at The Trenches use the names of our authors, or at least distinct identifiers, rather than hide behind “Team” or “Staff” by-lines. Why? Because we’re prettier, and none of us have eating disorders. Maybe we should start – for the lulz.)

The great social satirist, Ambrose Bierce, once defined a journalist thusly: “One who guesses his way to the truth, then proceeds to dispel it in a tempest of words.”

That commentary is still prescient today, over a century later, when applied to most of what conservatives commonly dub “the mainstream media.”

How sad is it, then, when a site claiming the mantle of an “alternative” to the MSM operates largely under that same definition?

For months, we here at The Trenches have been pointing out the stunning lack of veracity, abundance of persecution complex, and adherence to personalities over principles in the vast majority of Twitchy’s content.

So, it came as no surprise when they cranked up their patented Hyperbolic Kneejerk Butthurt 3000 on Wednesday and aimed it squarely at Trenches founder Brooks Bayne, in a post masquerading as a smackdown of Wonkette.

Being the discriminating sort (meaning: “we have standards”), we’ll not link to their anonymous libel. But some of the more egregious lies will be debunked.

While Wonkette is a vapid leftist rag that deserves merciless ridicule, along with firedoglake and Markos “There are no cats in America!” Mousekewitz’s DailyKos, what none of them deserve is to be lied about.

Yet the mysterious “Twitchy Staff” who wrote this latest smear claims that Wonkette actually used their article as a clever disguise to attack Twitchy (get this) “for criticizing Bayne’s antisemitism”.

I’m sure this will come as news to the writer of Wonkette’s article, Rebecca Schoenkopf (she uses her own name too! Weird!), who thought she was actually writing about Rod Kink Cannon’s kinky pics of his so-called cannon, as a follow-up to their story earlier that day about Kincannon’s disgusting Trayvon Martin tweets during the Super Bowl. (By the way, is “Schoenkopf” German?)

Anywho, if you read Rebecca’s article, you’ll notice that, in her sparing references to Brooks, she mentions Twitchy exactly two times. And both include links to Twitchy stories germane to her point. And, surprisingly enough, neither of Rebecca’s points even mentions Twitchy’s obsession with the “Brooks Bayne: anti-semite” meme, which they helped fabricate in the first place.

So, why did Twitchy devote the majority of their attack on Wonkette to attacking Brooks? Because they’ll use any excuse to attack Brooks, as evidenced by their ridiculous “Brooks Bayne = Brett Kimberlin” story about 8 months ago. (Which I debunked, point by point, in their comments section, at the time.)

The irony, right?

But, of course, Twitchy would never say an ill word about Pornohan (nsfw). They wouldn’t even point out Lee’s explicit death threat against Bill Whittle (which I point out below), but will trump up a “violation of Twitter’s terms of service” against Brooks.

image

And why did their most recent attack on Brooks consist mainly of pushing the false “jooh-hater” narrative, mingled with the bogus charge of “Bayne published a cell phone number” (of a guy who published it himself, 3 weeks earlier, as I referenced in the above comment)?

image

And why is “Twitchy Staff” (sounds like a urological disorder) still pushing false narratives that I personally debunked in their comments section last July?

image

(For more on Scammyhan’s threats and other “bullying”, click here. But Twitchy still loves the guy, and defends him to the hilt.)

So, why go after Brooks (and The Trenches), over and over? Because they’re still butthurt that we consistently call out their lies, with proof. That’s why.

Oh, and that whole “anti-Semite” thing? I guess we can rehash it briefly here. It started when Brooks exposed the cultural paradigm that leads to ideologies like that held by Sandra Fluke. Mention Jews, and you hate Jews. See how that works?

Even @RBPundit, the Barbie humper, admitted in DMs that there was nothing antisemitic about the article (or Brooks’ words, in its aftermath). But he joins in the “Jew-hater” BS now, almost as loudly as Twitchy does. Curious.

And the latest slime to dribble out of the deformed end of “Twitchy Staff”? As “proof” of Brooks’ antisemitism, they link to Aaron Walker (he of the bogus lawsuits and bogus assertions as to why he got fired) and Pornohan (I won’t nsfw your eyeballs with any more links to that maggot’s disgusting proclivities), who wrote raving butthurt blog posts about this article (which Brooks explicitly stated, beforehand, would be written to clown them). It worked.

All in all, the lesson to be learned here is that one should examine all the angles, instead of accepting a narrative at face value, because it comes from a “trusted source” in the “conservative” version of the MSM.

After all, given their obvious “Sturm und drang” motif, is it not logical to question what other Frankfurt School paradigms the “Twitchy Staff” may be surreptitiously (and anonymously) thrusting upon us?

Picking and choosing the narrative seems to be the norm for these opinion-molding mouthpieces. Agendas, agendas, agendas. Count me in as one who doesn’t pay attention to these inconsistent, distracting wastes of keyboard strokes. And damned proud of it.

“adherence to personalities over principles” Exactly, and their lurvefest with perv Kincannon couldn’t make it more clear. Unfortunately, what used to be an affliction reserved primarily for low-information Dim voters, has now invaded the right too. Sad.

“A journalist: One who guesses his way to the truth, then proceeds to dispel it in a tempest of words” I don’t care if one loves or hates Twitchy, this is just wrong. It should be an eye opener for anyone with eyes. Thanks for calling this out Bradley.
